When you think of golfing weekends, names like St Andrews, Turnberry and The Belfry come to mind, whereas Alston probably doesn’t. You could be missing out, however, as England’s highest market town is also home to England’s highest golf course, and Alston Moor Golf Club offers one of the most stunning backdrops to any round of golf in the UK.

Situated within the North Pennines AONB, it is the perfect setting for a golfing break in the heart of Cumbria.
